This weekend I’ll be testing out a new backpacking backpack: The Osprey Exos 46. This is an extremely lightweight backpack (weighing between 2lbs 4oz and 2lbs 7oz depending on size). Although it is by far not the lightest backpack you can get, this is arguably the ultimate lightweight backpack when you consider it’s long list of features, functions, and comfort on the trail. I have no idea of this backpack is worthy of crowning it “The Ultimate” just yet, but after I have a chance to use it a few times I’ll post on this blog with some more thoughts. For now, here’s a pic and some info and if you want to snag a deal on this pack, the best place seems to be Amazon right now. Unfortunately, Makais.com does not yet carry Osrey. Hopefully we’ll be able to begin offering you the Osprey brand very soon, since they make such good stuff!
The Exos 46 is the ultimate thru hike and super lightweight backpack, thanks to our AirSpeedSuspension, which teams a 6061-T6 Aluminum frame with a 3D tensioned mesh backpanel, and side crescent ventilation. The AirSpeed suspension works in tandem with the supportive and ventilated Bio-Stretch™ harness and hipbelt for fit and comfort unheard of in a one kilo pack.
- Single vertical zippered front pocket
- Single tool attachment
The Exos features an internal sewn-in backpanel sleeve with clip attachment to accommodate up to three liters of hydration. At the top of both sides of the pack you will find H20 icons marking the routing points for your hydration tube.
